(1) A health worker who violates sub-section (4), (5) or (6) of section 8 shall be punished with a fine up to one thousand rupees or with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one month or with both.
(2) Any manufacturer or distributor who contravenes sub-sections (1), (4), (5), (7), (8), (9), (10) or (11) of section 9 shall be liable to a fine which may extend to ten thousand rupees or to imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months. or both shall be punished.

(3) The producer or distributor who violates section 10 or 11 shall be punished with a fine of up to fifteen thousand rupees or imprisonment for a term of four months or both.
(4) A person who violates the other provisions of this Act or the rules made under this Act except as mentioned in sub-section (1), (2) or (3) shall be punished with a fine of up to two thousand rupees or imprisonment for a term of one month or both depending on the nature of the offence.
(5) When punishing a person for committing an offense in accordance with this section, the court may also award compensation from twenty five thousand rupees to one hundred thousand rupees to the person who has suffered damage due to such offense or his rightful person.
